I have been Tutor to post graduate medical osteopaths at the London College of Osteopathic Medicine since 2001 and have worked with Dr Douglas Longden doing a ‘Difficult Injuries’ Clinic for over eight years.

Last year, in response to many inquiries, I ran a series of three weekend seminars on the subject of ‘Strain and Counterstrain’ .

Part 1 covered Lower Thoracic , Lumbar and Pelvic regions
Part 2 covered Upper Thoracic ,Cervical and Cranial Dysfunctions
Part 3 covered Extremities

These were a great success and learning experience and as many more people have shown an interest in doing them, I have revised the manuals to be more learner friendly and I am now in the process of setting up more teaching seminars in the near future.

These courses are accompanied by the training manuals I have written , will extend to two days per Seminar and are worth 12 hours of CPD accreditation. The manuals will be sent out two weeks before the course begins to enable the participant to read the manual and become familiar with the subject.

PowerPoint presentations will be used to illustrate the techniques and there will be a maximum of eight people on each course. This to maximise the ‘hands on’ experience that I feel is needed to get to grips with the technique.
